This Season's Bouquets

We have had the most beautiful April and we are now most definitely into the Spring/Summer season for wedding flowers. As the next couple of months unfold we start to see more of our beautiful English flowers within the market. Think peonies, scabious, nigella, sweet peas, hydrangeas, stocks and delphiniums. The crisp whites and greens of early Spring are proceeded by delicate pastel shades with stunning scents that are so lovely to have in a bridal bouquet.

Tulips are still in abundance at this time of year and come in many different shapes and sizes. They are a very versatile flower and work well in very contemporary arrangements. They make fabulous bouquets, particularly when using the very frilly edged varieties and mixed with feathers for a vintage glamour look.

Ranunculus are the most feminine of flowers, delicate and heavily layered with petals, perfect for little flower girls as well. Peonies are my absolute favourite, the white variety have the most stunning scent and make a classic bouquet just on their own but for me, if I was to get married all over again I would choose the blousy blooms of the Sarah Bernhardt peony - romance personified.
