This Season's Flowers

We love to use seasonal flowers, not only do they make your arrangements look fantastic, they also tend to be cheaper and are more likely to be sourced in this country.

Perfect for this time of year are the fabulous big blooms of amaryllis which come in whites, pinks, corals, reds and deep clarets. Some varieties are very unusual and make a big statement on their own, tied together in a topiary shape. The flowers can also be wired into a fantastic, stylish domed bouquet.

Tulips are incredibly versatile, really good value and fun. They can be wrapped in vases or submerged in water and also work beautifully with roses in bouquets.

Hellebores are also very unusual and provide a very natural look that can be stunning when combined with guelder rose to create a refreshing white and green scheme.

Anemones can be show stealers with their vivid purples, pinks and reds. Their black eyes also make them great to use if you are doing a black and white scheme.

Ranunculus are personal favourites, again they have many colours but the most gorgeous are powdery pinks that work so well within vintage schemes.

And finally I use paperwhites for their amazing scent and perfect to use on their own for pew ends, bridesmaids posies and mini topiary tree arrangements.
