Had the pleasure of working with Annette and Adam this weekend at Ufton Court. There were so many pretty details that made the barn look very sweet. I loved the handle treatment on her bouquet and the Cath Kidstontable runners and mats. Dahlia are just amazing at the moment, in fantastically vivid colours, they are such happy flowers and just perfect for this look.

Was very excited to hear an old contact of mine has opened up the most beautiful bridal boutique in Odiham. So yesterday afternoon I thought it would be fun to pay her a surprise visit and take a look at some gorgeous dresses and drop off a gift I designed especially for her glamorous shop.

BOO - or Brides of Odiham has just opened on the High Street in Odiham. It is a gorgeous location and a fantastic shop. Theresa will welcome you into her shop for a really wonderful experience as a bride to be. The shop stocks dresses by Alan Hannah, Leigh Hetherington, Paloma Blanca, Jasmine and Mia Mia.
Upstairs in the shop is a really great fitting room that is booked for your private appointment. The attention you will receive is just great, you'll be made to feel so special and a lovely place to take your mum or special friend to share the experience.

I was allowed to have a little preview of some of the beautiful dresses that are stocked and this happened to be one that caught my eye. A Leigh Hetherington number with such a stunning bodice, that would provide an amazing shape with some gorgeous embellishment detail that would inspire a stunning bouquet as well.

Good luck to BOO - it's so worth a visit, do book an appointment to go and try on a really beautiful selection of dresses. www.bridesofodiham.co.uk
So excited to be announcing my afternoon of wedding flower inspiration at The Elvetham. I have so many ideas to share with you and hope that you can make it along on the 20th June. It's a must see if you are just beginning or in the midst of planning your wedding. Have a look and e-mail me or call me to book your place.
Well finally you might say, I am so sorry I haven't been blogging for the last month - I have been having a wonderfully exciting but outrageously busy month. I have met so many gorgeous new brides, so thank you for giving me the opportunity to design some really fabulous new schemes. There are quite a few trends emerging. We are going to be seeing plenty of deep purple, which I love particularly as an alternative autumn colour. Many of my summer weddings are taking inspiration from all things vintage and there is a definite movement towards a timeless elegance with luxurious schemes, tall candleabra, dripping with crystals as we move in to the latter part of the year.
But firstly I wanted to share my weekend with you. I have had the pleasure of doing two weddings and a 40th birthday party. My first wedding was at Ufton Court and was a white tulip extravaganza. The bride was in the most beautiful dress by Sarah Arnett and to say I had complete dress envy was an understatement. It was 40's inspired with fantastic vintage accessories. We chose something really simple for her bouquet, I didn't get to see Natalie on the day but can't wait to see the pictures.

Natalie wanted to keep the same simplistic but stunning look for her table centres placing tulip hand tieds into cubes. Surrounded by a gazillion tea lights the barn at Ufton Court will have looked amazing when all lit up last night.
My next wonderful bride was Nikki, using Spring as her colour and flower inspiration. Her five bridesmaids were wearing a lovely mid green and we made these gorgeous posies of paperwhite for them - really quite pleased with this photo!

We transported her church decorations to the marquee at Oakley Hall, the guelder rose is a great zesty accent to the subtle pinks within the scheme.

The spring posy pew ends made lovely occasional arrangements around the venue.

She chose a tall table decoration that looked fabulous against the strands of fairy lights across the ceiling.

And finally we went to the Four Seasons, one of my favourite hotels, for the ultimate 40th birthday bash for Sally. She wanted to wow her guests with a bright and bold scheme of pinks and reds. She loved the scent of lilies so we mix them with clusters of pink and red roses and butterflies. It looked amazing. We were also very lucky to be setting up as the her fabulous band were doing their sound checks. We heard them play an Earth Wind and Fire classic which was amazing - and enabled us to dance through the last few hours of our 14 hour day.

We finished with mojitos in the Four Season bar and got a sneak peak of Sally in the most amazing dress, head to toe silver sequins - she looked incredible and for the third time that day I wanted a new dress!
Unfortunately no partying for me on my birthday as had to be up early the next day to make the bouquets for Sarah and Andrew's wedding at the Elvetham. Sarah was not staying at the venue so we did not get to see her beautiful dress, but hoping she will send us some photos to look at. The bridesmaids were in a frosted violet dress which inspired the use of the blue curiosa rose.

Florists tend to have favourite roses through the seasons, and some are better to work with than others. I haven't used the blue curiosa for a while but it never fails to impress me. Although it has been really cold again this week which is difficult when you are trying to get flowers to be in full bloom, the blue curiosa was just perfect on the day. It is a mix between a vintage pink and a lilac and works perfectly with Old Dutch roses - used in the bouquet, and makes a great buttonhole.

We added touches of heather, silver eucalyptus and viburnum tinus to give the arrangements a wintry feel. The church flowers were kept to whites and very pale pinks using tulips and sweet avalanche roses and we injected the colour into the reception flowers. The couple had decided to have a round top table and as there were 10 tables in total we felt that it was perfect to use a mix of high and low arrangements to give the impact when you walk into the room but whilst also providing some low level candlelight to provide a more intimate atmosphere.
